Filming Schedule

For our filming we needed to film different parts at different times so we had to create a schedule. For the main parts of our trailer we needed to use the House, the Car and the Abandoned Ruins as stated in the Reece Report. We were filming from January 8th 2013 - February 14th 2013. As it was just after christmas and the darkness was coming round quickly everyday we had to be spot on with our timing of our filming.

The first bit that we filmed for was the House scenes. We needed daylight for this as we wanted it to seem comfy and safe for the viewer to watch, daylight gives this feeling off better than what darkness does. We filmed it at around 11:30AM-3:00PM to ensure we got the light perfectly on our scenes, we also shot them several times to make sure we got one great scene in the daylight and that we didn't have to film again and risk the chance of getting the time-zones wrong.

The second part that we filmed was when we were travelling in the car to show transportation of the scenes, from comfort to danger. We filmed this from around 2:00PM-5:30PM to ensure that you could notice the difference in the position of the sun and the difference in weather. We also wanted to film the outside environment from the car to see if the weather changes had an effect on the landscape and the area.

The third part that we filmed was at the Abandoned Ruins. We wanted to film this when the sun was creeping down and the moon and night life was just starting to rise up. This was filmed at around 5:30PM-8:00PM to ensure that we could arrive when the sun was coming down and that we left the filming when it was pitch black. We were prepared for the weather and coldness that could hit us so we went with torches to ensure that filming was still possible in the dark too. The dark effect also made the area a lot more intense and gripping to watch as it definitely added to the scary effect we were looking for. Filled with bats and tombstones it was the perfect place to film in. It gave off the danger, nerving and anxious feelings that we were looking for in a location.
